1983 Les Paul Spot Light (83 ***)

3-piece top with curly maple outer pieces and walnut center, gold-plated hardware,
production 211instruments.This is optional antique sunburst finish with cream top binding,
ebony peghead veneer and duble ring peg.

レスポール・スポットライトは、レスポール・スポットライト・スペシャルのオプショナル・バージョンとして'83年にギブソン・カスタムショップで製作された物だ。
The Les Paul spotlight was manufactured as an optional version of a Les Paul spotlight special at the GIBUSON custom-made shop in '83.

製作数は両モデル合わせて211本と少なく、オプショナル・バージョンとして準備されたスポットライトは更にレアなモデルとなっている。（実物を目にした人は少ないと思われる。）
There are few manufactures as both 211 in all models, and the spotlight prepared as an optional version serves as the still rare model. (It is thought that there are little people who used thing as the eye.)

スルーネックのように見えるボディーは、メイプルのセンターにウォールナットを挟んだ３ピーストップで、通常のセットネック仕様となっている。(美しいトップを見せるため、始めからピックガードは付けられていない。)
The body which appears like a through neck is the three piece top who inserted the walnut into the center of maple, and serves as usual set neck specification. (In order to show a beautiful top, the pick guard is not attached from the start.)

ハードウエアーにはゴールドパーツが用いられ、観賞用としても十分成立する。しかし、特筆すべき点はそのサウンドにあり、音が悪そうな仕様にも関わらず、非常に音抜けが良く、鳴るレスポールである。（天"ギブソン"はこのレスポールに二物を与えた。）
A gold part is used for hardware and it is enough materialized also as an object for admiration. However, the point which should be mentioned especially is in the sound, and in spite of the specification which is likely to be bad, a sound omission is good and is very sounding LesPaul. (heavens " GIBUSON " gave two things to this LesPaul.)

このレスポールが作られた背景には、80年代頃から活発になった自然保護運動との関わりが強く、自然保護団体への対策が目的と思われる。”はぎれの木材も利用する事が出来る”とのアピールが狙いではないだろうか？。（割り箸の袋に”この割り箸は端材から作られています。”と書いて、自然保護をアピールする事と同じである。）
Relation by the conservation movement which became active around from the 80s is strong for the backgroundfrom which this Les Paul was made, and the measure to a conservation group is considered to be the purpose.

杢目を見せるためにピックガードは初めから付けられていない。

木材の素晴らしさはトップばかりではなく、バックのマホガニーも良質なものが用いられており、軽くパワフルで鳴りが良い。
やはりLes Paulのサウンドはボディーバックのマホガニー材による影響が大きい。
